The Turkish foreign Ministry called «a disgrace» the recognition of Armenian genocide by Germany

Adopted by the German Parliament decision on the recognition of the genocide of the Armenian population in the Ottoman Empire is «ignorance and disrespect for the law». This is stated in a statement released by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkey.

«The decision that was made on 2 June by the German Parliament, made free to discuss the topic of the events of 1915 through legislative precedent, is a disgrace to the reputation of the institution. This is an example of ignorance and disrespect for the law by those who politicize history, prevent free discussion of the history and trying to make indisputable the Armenian opinion», – quotes the document NEWSru.com.

The statement noted that if the Bundestag wants to know what happened during the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, it could contribute to the establishment of a joint historical Commission, which will act independently, openly and based on science, Ankara has offered since 2005.
