400 suspected Tunisian jihadists across Europe, interior minister warns

Around 400 alleged jihadists of Tunisian descent were thought to be abroad in Europe, the Interior Minister said on Tuesday.

Speaking to a local television channel, Hédi Majdoub said Tunisian authorities had a list naming 2,929 citizens who are suspected of having links to jihadist groups and are currently abroad.

According to the minister, 1,500 of those individuals were thought to be in Syria, around 500 in Libya, 150 in Iraq and "400 more spread across several countries, the majority in Europe."

Of another 800 who were known to have returned to Tunisia, 300 were considered dangerous.
