Niger: A Game Changer to Ensure Food Security

--

By 2050, the population of sub-Saharan Africa is likely to grow from 850 million to 1.7 billion people, representing almost 7% of the world’s population.

These projections will result in an increased demand for food. This will be a huge challenge, especially in the context of variability and climate change.

In Niger, the Climate-Smart Agriculture Support Project (PASEC) is helping strengthen farmers' resilience to climate change and increase agricultural productivity.

Through the PASEC project, more than 100,000 farmers have learned better farming techniques, increasing their yields by 25%.
