Vessels with grain from Ukraine bypass the starving countries of Africa

The Russian Foreign Ministry questioned the sincerity of Western countries' statements about the positive impact of the "grain deal" on world food security.

"Unfortunately, so far not a single ship with grain has reached the starving countries of Africa. They go mainly to Western ports," Ivan Nechaev, deputy director of the information and press department of the agency, stated at a briefing.

He also noted that mainly the cargoes do not contain in priority wheat, but sunflower and corn oil. Moscow, on the other hand, expects the West to create conditions for filling world markets with domestic products.

The agreement signed in Istanbul assumed not only the export of grain from Ukraine, but also the promotion of food from the Russian Federation. The second point has not yet been implemented.
