Chez les Kalash, minuscule minorité animiste dans le nord-ouest du Pakistan, les femmes sont dévoilées et leurs robes flamboyantes - au grand dam de musulmans conservateurs qui les accusent d'avoir déclenché une colère divine à l'origine, selon eux, du séisme qui a anéanti des villages entiers en octobre.

Countries mark 10th anniversary of UNESCO Convention on Diversity of Cultural Expressions

Parties to the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Convention during their biannual Conference, which will take place at UNESCO in Paris from 10 to 12 June. The anniversary will be an occasion to take stock and plan ways to build on the achievements of the 2005 Convention in its first decade.

Tibetans in Yunnan Give Up Wearing Animal Skins, Burn Valuable Furs (VIDEO)


Tibetan villagers living in the southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan have marked the beginning of the Lunar New Year by vowing to give up the wearing of animal furs and by burning those already in their possession, sources said.
