Diamond rush grips village in South Africa | DW News

--

More than a thousand fortune seekers have flocked to a small village in South Africa's province of Kwa Zulu Natal to search for diamonds.

The rush comes after a herder discovered what he believes to be a quartz crystal.

The government has sent mining experts to assess the findings. DW correspondent Adrian Kriesch went to KwaHlathi, about 250km from Durban, to do some digging.
