France's interior minister met with security officials Sunday as investigators probe the background and motivations of a young (20 or 21-year-old) man who attacked people on the streets of Paris Saturday night, killing one of them. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for this latest attack in the French capital.

France honors victims of Paris attacks in national ceremony
Under a cloudy, wintry sky, the French tricolor was displayed outside public buildings and homes on Friday. Government officials, politicians from left and right camps and leaders of different religious groups gathered at the military museum Les Invalides to pay tribute to the 130 people killed during the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks.

European border restrictions endanger refugees, migrants, especially children, UN agencies warn
European restrictions on refugees and migrant movements after last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris, including national profiling, are endangering many, especially children, as the bite of winter takes hold, United Nations agencies warned today, calling on Governments to provide more reception centres and decent accommodation.
